Process

Each artwork is an original emulsion transfer. I take the photograph on slide film and then expose that onto Polaroid film by using an enlarger.  The Polaroid is immersed in hot water where the surface begins to bubble.  Next I put it in cool water where I am able to completely remove the emulsion from the plastic backing and transfer it onto watercolor paper.  Because the final results of each image cannot be duplicated, no two works are exactly alike.

I create each piece by hand, using only materials of the highest quality.  I want each piece of artwork to last as long as possible, so all materials are acid free and each image is sprayed with UV resistant spray to help prevent fading.  As with all photographs it should be displayed away from direct sunlight.
